Need to put together a simple, affordable kids’ dress-up area?
My kids have accumulated tons of dresses, accessories, and shoes. We have been fortunate to have most passed down to us. With so many beautiful costumes, we needed a dress-up area to keep them, nice and organized. They were just ending up in random piles in the kids’ playroom. I searched online and in stores for storage ideas. I was in awe with the beautiful kids’ dress-up storages available for purchase. I almost bought one because of the level of mess that dress-up clothes create, and I wanted a fast solution! The average price ranged from $100 to $200, and I did not want to spend that much money on this. I wanted simple and cheap.
While shopping at Dollar Tree, I stumbled upon these wall hooks! They’re simple, and VERY affordable.
To add a small touch of decor, I added a small sign using a picture frame, and some lettering from my scrapbook materials, which also can be purchased at the store for a reasonable price.
So to start a basic dress-up area, it can cost less than $5 (with just the hooks and signage).
Additional accessories can be stored in trunks and containers, which can be found at reasonable prices at such stores as Ross or Target.
I even used a large empty animal cracker container for the kids’ extra headbands. While not the most pretty, it is functional and cheap.
