Green Kid Crafts Subscription Box Review

As a busy mom, I love good quality subscription boxes! Activities that are delivered right to our door? Yes! (We do like to go out, but
it is also convenient not to sometimes). As a “curriculum junkie” I have tried out several educational subscription boxes, and GreenKid Crafts is one of our favorite boxes. Green Kid Crafts creates “discovery boxes” geared for ages 3-10. Their boxes promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

There are several reasons why we love Green Kid Crafts:

Ready to go

Once the box arrives at the door, we can literally open the box, and dive right into the activities, with zero to minimal prep time! As an educator, I know that it can take time to plan cohesive lessons and activities. It also takes time to seek out and prepare the materials. Therefore, it is convenient to have the activities and materials already planned and organized for immediate use. Green Kid Crafts comes with around five to eight activities, each in individual bags. The bags include directions and materials for one child. Siblings can be added as well. There are many activities that my daughters were able to share, so adding sibling kits are not always needed. Some activities require materials from home, but for the most part, they are common household items.

Eco-friendly, quality materials 

The materials included in the boxes are durable and good quality. I can tell that the boxes are well put together and carefully curated. A unique quality about Green Kid Crafts is they are eco-friendly, so the materials and activities are centered around ensuring the mindfulness of our mother Earth. There is an activity in each kit to even use the box itself, so it does not go to waste.

Well-planned

Green Kid Crafts plans lessons and activities centered around a unifying theme each month. Some of the themes we have encountered so far include volcanoes, endangered animals, botany, gardening, and arctic animals. There are so much more because there are new themes each month. The box also includes cards with interesting information and facts. So it is not just completing crafts, but there is a good foundation of information to teach the kids as well. The cards also include additional resources to learn more. As mentioned earlier, STEAM projects are included, so the activities are multi-disciplinary and appropriate for pre-school to elementary school-aged kids. As an adult, I too learn a lot and find enjoyment with the lesson activities in their boxes.

Price

For a month to month subscription, it costs $19.95/month. Family Quality Time

The number one reason that we are big fans of Green Kid Crafts is the ability to learn and bond with the kids. It is nice to find extra ways do activities together with the family, that are already well-thought-out, and that can be enjoyed on the spot. There are so many ways to engage with the kids, and I can jot down a long list and prepare many on my own,  but sometimes it is great not to have to plan the activities. Green Kid Crafts allows us to open up a box and we can spread out the activities over the course of the month, or if we are feeling really ambitious, we can do them during the week. Either way, it is so exciting to see the kids’ faces light up when the box is delivered, and to see such joy in learning.
